Gamma Wallet vs. the Loyalty Market: A Full Feature Comparison

If you run a café, a bar, a salon or a small shop and you go looking for a loyalty program, you quickly find that the products on offer fall into two groups — and that the two never overlap.
Merchant loyalty tools give your shop a stamp card or a points scheme. Loopy Loyalty, Stamp Me, Loyalzoo, Square Loyalty, Toast Loyalty, Piggy. They serve you. Your customer walks away with yet another card for yet another shop, and the tool knows nothing about the rest of their life.
Consumer card wallets do the opposite. Klarna — which absorbed Stocard — along with Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, let a customer carry the cards they already hold. They serve the customer. You get nothing from them: no program, no mechanics, no relationship.
Gamma is the only platform doing both at once. Below is the detail, feature by feature.

A note on the comparison tables: competitor information comes from each vendor’s own published material and from software review sites as of September 2026. Vendors change their plans often, so treat every figure as a point-in-time snapshot and check the vendor’s own pricing page before relying on it. Where we could not establish something with confidence, the table says so rather than guessing.
Reward mechanics: what each platform can actually run
Most loyalty products give you one mechanic. Gamma gives you eight to choose from — and you run one at a time, picking whichever matches how your business genuinely sells.
| Platform | Models | What it runs |
|---|---|---|
| Gamma | 8 | Stamp cards, incremental and tiered rewards, tiered discounts, paid membership, store credit, and two community pool models |
| Loopy Loyalty | 1–2 | Stamp cards delivered as Apple and Google Wallet passes |
| Stamp Me | 1 | Stamp cards, with optional NFC hardware |
| Loyalzoo | 2–3 | Points and paid membership, run through a supported POS terminal |
| Square Loyalty | 2 | Points and VIP tiers, inside Square POS |
| Toast Loyalty | 2 | Points and tiers, inside Toast POS |
| Stampede | 1–2 | Loyalty alongside Wi-Fi capture, bookings and reviews |
Two mechanics on that list exist nowhere else: community pooled rewards, and customer deposits into a pool. Paid membership and store-credit-as-a-product are also rare — only Loyalzoo offers the first, and only the two POS platforms come close on the second.
The eight models are Instant Rewards, Incremental Rewards, Layered Rewards, Layered Discounts, Membership, Direct Credit, Community Purchase and Community Deposit.
One rule worth being clear about: the seven main models are mutually exclusive. Your shop runs exactly one at a time. Direct Credit is the only one that layers on top of another. You can switch model whenever you like without rebuilding your program or re-enrolling anybody — but you are not running three schemes in parallel, and the pricing reflects that.
Community Loyalty: the model nobody else has
Every other loyalty product on this page rewards what one customer already did. You pay for the incentive out of your own margin, and you find out afterwards whether it worked.
Community Loyalty inverts that. The reward grows as more customers join, funded by participation rather than by cutting your price. Community Deposit asks customers to place value up front, returned to them in full if the pool misses its target. Community Purchase runs the same mechanic with no deposit at all — ordinary purchases during the window build the group total.

No platform we reviewed — merchant tool, POS add-on or card wallet — has any equivalent.
The customer’s wallet: where the gap is widest
This is the part of the comparison that surprises people, and it is the clearest illustration of those two non-overlapping worlds.
| Capability | Gamma | Merchant loyalty tools | Card wallets |
|---|---|---|---|
| All merchants in one wallet | Yes | No | Yes |
| Stores their other loyalty cards | Yes | No | Yes |
| Stores access and key cards | Yes | No | No |
| Business and personal contact cards | Yes | No | No |
| Retailer discovery map | Yes | No | Partial |
| Receipt scanner | Yes | No | No |
| Trade reward credit with another customer | Coming soon | No | No |
| Runs a reward program for the shop | Yes | Yes | No |
“Merchant loyalty tools” covers Loopy Loyalty, Stamp Me, Loyalzoo, Square Loyalty, Toast Loyalty and Stampede — none of them stores anything belonging to the customer beyond your own card. “Card wallets” is Klarna, which stores plenty and runs no program at all.
A Gamma customer can scan the barcode of a loyalty card from any other shop and carry it in the same wallet that holds their Gamma rewards — along with access and key cards, and contact cards in both business and personal form, shareable by QR.
That matters to you as a retailer for a practical reason. Your customer has a reason to open the app when they are nowhere near your shop. That is footfall into your program that a single-shop stamp card simply cannot buy.
Rewards you can trade, not just spend (coming soon)
Every other platform locks reward value to the account that earned it, where it sits until that one person spends it.
Passing reward credit to another Gamma Wallet user in person already works today, and it stays credit at the same shop. The Customer Exchange Reward Market, where customers can trade rewards with each other, is coming soon. It is not live yet. When it launches, each trade will be signed and written as a reward contract.
For bars and restaurants: print the QR code once
Gamma publishes your menu or price list at a permanent public address, and the important word is permanent.
You can swap the PDF, switch to a page you host yourself, or redesign the whole thing — the QR code printed on your tables and the NFC tag on your counter keep working. The address is assigned once and never reissued, which is a deliberately different design from QR-menu tools that mint a new link every time you change the file.

Changes are never published directly either. An edit waits in a review queue while your current menu stays live, so your menu is never down while something is being checked. You also get scan counts, total and per day.
Reaching your customers
| Tier | Clients | Notification reach | Email per broadcast |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | up to 33 | 33 | €0 |
| Tier 2 | up to 666 | 666 | €3 |
| Tier 3 | up to 2,999 | 2,999 | €6 |
| Tier 4 | up to 5,333 | 5,333 | €9 |
Push and in-app messages cost nothing, at every tier, including the free one. A shop on the free plan can reach all 33 of its customers as often as it needs at no cost. Only email carries a marginal cost, because sending email genuinely has one.
Built for Europe rather than adapted to it
- Many European languages, complete — not machine-filled gaps.
- Simple sign-up: a phone number, a nickname, an email address and a password, confirmed with an SMS code. No payment details are ever asked for.
- Data stored in the EU, handled by Gamma Wallet Ltd under the GDPR. Deleting an account removes the email address, phone number and nickname and switches notifications off; records of past rewards stay so past transactions can still be verified.
- Gamma’s own €200 limit applied automatically. A customer can hold at most €200 in reward credit at one shop at a time, and Gamma never credits more than that.
- Every reward action signed and recorded as a verifiable reward contract.

Three things are worth reading carefully here.
Up to 33 clients costs nothing, and it is not a trial. There is no countdown, no card and no expiry. Most of the alternatives give you seven to thirty days and then bill you.
Because you run one model at a time, Gamma’s price is a single monthly figure rather than a stack. It compares directly against a competitor’s single price, not as a multiple of it.
And the two Community models bill every two weeks rather than monthly, so €50 is roughly €108 a month. Comparing that figure against a competitor’s monthly price without adjusting would be comparing the wrong numbers.
Where Gamma is genuinely different
Six things on this page have no equivalent anywhere else we looked:
- Community Purchase and Community Deposit — a reward that grows with participation, and deposits returned in full if a pool misses its target.
- One wallet holding both your program and the customer’s other cards, keys and contact cards.
- Reward credit that can be traded between customers (coming soon).
- A menu QR code that survives every redesign, with an approval queue so the menu is never down.
- Gamma’s own €200 limit per shop, applied for you.
- Employer and group pre-buy credit, where a company buys credit for its employees and the retailer is paid.
If you are weighing this against other options, we have written separately about how to choose between competing loyalty programs.
